Position Summary
Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer SME to support the Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management (C3BM) at Hill AFB in Ogden Utah. C3BM functions as the Air Force's technical, acquisition and sustainment experts providing unique and comprehensive support to the warfighter. The ADE Division is responsible for a vast array of USAF systems to include Electronic Warfare, Range Systems, Range Instrumentation, Air Combat Training and Aircrew Readiness, Command and Control Systems, Advanced Radar Threat Systems, Combat Survivor Evader Locator, P5 Combat Training Systems, Black Switch and Legacy Voice Systems. Furthermore, the ADE Division provides support to depot level sustainment and maintenance efforts, FMS, U.S. Army, Navy, Pacific Air Forces, Air Combat Command (ACC), Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), and Air Education and Training Command (AETC) on a continuous basis.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
Program and Systems Engineering Support
Conduct reviews on program portfolios to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs and processes, manage and sustain the program technical baseline, and design and perform system-level tests to ensure subsystem and system performance align with approved specifications.
- Perform program reviews to assess alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, designs, and test results to ensure subsystem and system performance meet program specifications.
- Provide system and program engineering, technical support, and technical training for initiatives including, but not limited to: acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding, installation, and operations oversight.
- Assist with material solution analysis, technology development, engineering and manufacturing development, production and deployment, and operations and support.
- Support engineering technical and technical management processes associated with version and configuration control, including:
- Requirements definition and analysis
- Architecture design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, transition
- Decision analysis, technical planning, and technical assessment
- Requirements management, risk management, configuration management, technical data management, and interface management
Documentation and Analysis
- Prepare technical documents that define, specify, and recommend system and subsystem characteristics.
- Develop management reports and conduct technical presentations to support planning, implementation, and corrective actions using engineering economy principles.
- Provide technical recommendation support services, including reviews, studies, audits, evaluations, analyses, scientific and procedural guidance, documentation, and support of associated engineering IPTs.
- Provide proposal analysis support services that compare and quantify proposed systems, components, and approaches for technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support the development of systems engineering documentation and demonstrate understanding of interactions among systems of systems, configuration management, technical data packages, and acquisition and sustainment engineering processes.
Validation, Testing, and Requirements Analysis
- Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures.
- Analyze and evaluate results of major engineering systems.
- Provide engineering support to conduct formal trade studies based on performance, effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, cost-performance, life cycle cost, productivity, reliability, maintainability, risk, and schedule.
- Review and analyze system concepts and user requirements that have been approved and entered into the system requirements baseline (functional, allocated, and product).
- Provide concepts and requirements analyses support services, including review and analysis of:
- Initial Capabilities Documents (ICD)
- Capability Development Documents (CDD)
- Capability Production Documents (CPD)
- Analyses of Alternatives (AoA)
- Military Utility Assessments
- Concepts of Operation (CONOP)
- Technology Development Strategies
- Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) / Physical Configuration Audits (PCA)
- Technology Standards Profiles
Technical Reviews and Risk Management
- Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with AF SEAM processes.
- Assist with the planning and execution of technical reviews and assessments (e.g., System Requirements Review, Technology Readiness Assessment).
- Support the development of associated documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans and Risk Management Plans.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Secret Clearance Education: Bachelor's Degree in a professional engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited educational program with 25 years of directly related experience with 15 years of experience in a DoD setting OR

- 30 years of directly related experience with 20 years of experience in a DoD setting
- Experienced in requirements development, production and deployment, and operation and support, architectures development & implementation, modeling & simulation including but not limited to Model Based Systems Engineering principles, verification & validation, technical data package development and sustainment, and principles of configuration management
- Experience with network architectures, embedded systems and application deployment across a variety of systems and hardware, to include cloud deployment and virtualization
- Familiarity with DoD Acquisition processes including Technology Maturation, Risk Reduction, Engineering Manufacturing and Development, Production and Deployment activities
- Familiarity with Electronic Warfare and/or Air Combat operations including live aircrew training/development of tactics, techniques, and procedures and Range Infrastructure architectures and systems are desired
- Familiarity with foreign ground radar
