Job Title: Impact and Engagement Associate IV



Position Summary:

As a member of the Communications and Corporate Responsibility team, and reporting to the Chief Impact and Engagement Officer, this role will manage the programmatic implementation of Duquesne Light Company's (DLC) impact and engagement strategy. The company's impact and engagement strategy seeks to grow DLC's positive impact by engaging with and leveraging the company's broad network of community partners for improved business outcomes in the workplace and marketplace. The specialist role will have a primary focus on workplace outcomes by strengthening the employee experience and fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace culture through employee-led business resource groups and advising on associated customer and community outreach.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Aligned with DLC's impact and engagement strategy and in close partnership with Human Resources, the specialist oversees the administration of DLC's employee-led business resource groups (BERGs). This includes:

    • Ensuring alignment of BERG goals with enterprise-wide employee engagement strategy and objectives, as well as marketplace and community outcomes focused on reducing energy burden in our region.
    • Developing and executing governance procedures for BERGs in support of an inclusive workplace culture through annual charter reviews, election processes, budgeting, and growth and development of BERG leaders.
    • Providing BERG members with advisory support to enable their events planning and execution.
    • Ensure consistency and coordination among BERGs in their communications, program offerings and events.




  • In partnership with the Human Resources team, provide advisory support and subject matter expertise on inclusive workplace practices to various other employee-led groups, focused on identifying possible synergies to engage employees (change adoption networks, employee volunteers, employee engagement committees, union partners, ESG ambassadors, etc.)
  • Partner with Human Resources' centralized learning team to co-create training and development opportunities to advance a culture of inclusion and respect.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications and Brand to develop content to promote DLC's recognition of heritage months, holidays and BERG programming.
  • Where applicable, represent the corporate responsibility team on initiatives with enterprise-wide impact to ensure workplace, marketplace and community partner impacts are considered and partnerships are leveraged.
  • Complete annual reporting and disclosure requirements for human capital performance that are tied to annual environmental, social and governance surveys and reports.
  • Support audit processes of impact and engagement programs and other initiatives or programs that address related topics.
  • Facilitate budget setting and tracking process for BERGs; establish and manage vendor relationships (including contracts, program enhancements).
  • Support corporate sponsorships and employee volunteerism to further our positive impact in the community.



Education and Experience Required:



  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience human resources, employee engagement, and/or workplace inclusion related functions.
  • Experience with program development and management.



Skills/Abilities:



  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage changing priorities without missing deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in meetings, via email and in formal discussions.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable using data and metrics to assess ROI and performance.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to partner with different levels across the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.



Scope

Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs and reporting. Accountable for managing one's own time and workflow but may be leading projects or project steps. Work is typically complex in nature requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform the role. Continues to build knowledge base but has a solid foundation to act independently the majority of the time. Still draws on experts and managers when needed but less frequently. Acts as a resource to less experienced staff on routine issues.



Decision Impact

The problems and issues faced are complex. Incumbent draws on past experience on a regular basis to solve problems and take new perspectives on existing solutions. Accountable for direct level of reasoning and decision making.



Hybrid Work

Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.



Storm Roles

All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset. Please be sure to discuss storm roles with the hiring manager for this position, as duties can vary across the Company.Examples of storm roles could include but aren't limited to duties such as: working with operations for service center support or with the communications, customer service or government affairs teams to respond to public and customer requests for information, etc.



Data Governance

Utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position, support data stewardship activities and partner with IT on underlying data needs.
