Position Overview:
The Information
Security Engineer II plays a critical role in supporting the development and
implementation of an enterprise-wide information security program. This role is
responsible for providing both strategic and tactical technical solutions,
leading project execution, and ensuring alignment between Information
Technology (IT) and security initiatives to safeguard the confidentiality,
integrity, and availability of the organization's information assets.

Essential Functions:

  • Devise, plan, and oversee the implementation of Information Technology Security solutions by both technical and non-technical groups across and outside the organization.
  • Act as a technical consultant to IT and business units, ensuring alignment between the Information Security Program and enterprise-wide goals.
  • Lead and perform in-depth technical analysis and evaluations of Information Technology software and hardware to ensure compatibility with security protocols.
  • Identify and prioritize vulnerabilities, develop solutions, and coordinate with IT and non-IT business units to mitigate risks.
  • Assist the Director of Information Security in defining and implementing both tactical and strategic initiatives for the Information Security Program.
  • Facilitate and oversee incident response, legal eDiscovery, and forensic investigations in collaboration with IT experts and business units.
  • Identify program gaps and inefficiencies, providing recommendations for technical improvements to strengthen the security posture.
  • Serve as a liaison, facilitating clear and effective communication between multiple stakeholders through verbal, written, and public channels.
  • Continued testing and validation of security tools, provide artifacts and reports supporting success and/or failure, and remediate any findings.
  • Track and recommend KRIs for security related events, statistics of security tools and vulnerabilities.
  • Provide 3rd level technical support for security infrastructure, ensuring the operational efficiency of the security systems.
  • Stay abreast of emerging security technologies and trends, providing guidance on their applicability and potential adoption within the organization.
  • This position may require travel in the bank's geographic area.


Experience & Education:

  • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology.
  • 3-5 years of experience delivering IT security-focused solutions.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project or program management and execution within a security context.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience deploying new information security solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field; equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.

Skills &
Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills, demonstrating professionalism and the ability to build consensus across diverse technical disciplines.
  • Proficiency in using MS O365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of firewalls, networks, database security, operating systems, and various security tools (e.g., IDS/IPS, malware technology, AV, filtering technologies, identity services).
  • Familiar with Azure security technologies including but not limited to firewalls, load balancing and securing application interfaces.
  • Understanding of network architectures, security controls, and their alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Strong risk analysis and mitigation expertise, with experience identifying and addressing potential security threats.
  • Knowledge of mobile, online, and cloud security practices.
  • Expertise in key networking protocols, including SSL, SMTP, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-up.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and management levels.
  • Ability to work independently with high-level direction and manage security functions without direct supervision.

Other Requirements:

  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, SSCP, or GIAC are preferred.
  • Some travel required for on-site support or project-related activities.
  • Availability
    for nights and weekends as needed for critical system support or
    emergencies.
  • Visa
    sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, handling multiple competing priorities.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull weights or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 10 lbs. on a regular basis and/or for extended periods of time during the workday.
  • Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
