- Performs duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor or their designee.
- Coordinates, organizes and assigns subordinates daily job tasks in packaging and retail bagging department.
- Verifies that metal detectors are operational and performs regular tests as directed by the Quality Assurance Department.
- Monitors blast freezer temperature and core product temperatures to ensure product temperature specifications are met. Monitors product to ensure that other product specifications are met.
- Ensures that lot codes, bar codes, and use by dates, case labels and retail bags are correctly applied, used or inserted into the cases according to specifications.Ensures all packaging documentation, including finished product report, spoils report, metal detector log, pallet tags, check list and daily employee hour's reports, and other documentation, is filled out accurately, legibly and on time.
- Operates forklift and pallet jack to move product, including into and out of freezer.
- Ensures that subordinates are operating equipment safely and correctly.
- Responsible for employee training, scheduling, assigning, directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employeesQualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Two years of related manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and training
- Forklift certification required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as production schedules, safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to complete routine reports
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees Working knowledge of Spanish preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, inventory control software
- Forklift certification required.
Shift: 3rd Hour Range: $21.16 - $22.00
