About the Position
As our Immunization Nurse Educator in Community Wellness and Health Promotion, you will provide evidence-based education through research, communication, and intervention of vaccine-preventable and communicable diseases. To promote immunization and healthcare awareness, you will work with vulnerable populations, schools, private providers, childcare centers, local businesses, and employees at the county, state, and federal levels.

We Require
Two years of nursing experience Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a valid, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or issued by another state recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a multi-compact license state

Job Contributions
Develops and delivers presentations on immunizations, communicable diseases to citizens, schools, childcare centers, businesses, and other healthcare providers; promotes other department programs and activities Works with stakeholders and partners to develop clinical messaging and communication Addresses clinical vaccine questions from the community Provides support to school health personnel in all school settings (public, private, charter, provisional) Mentors nursing and medical assistant students in clinical immunization practice in various locations throughout Maricopa County
Working Conditions
Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions Ability to exert up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly, and requires walking or standing to a significant degree Valid Arizona driver's license is required upon hire Must have reliable transportation to travel to other locations if coverage is needed Must secure and maintain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card and complete and pass a background check Within one month of hire, all employees will be required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test
