Job Overview
The Hubbell Internship Program is a 10 to 12-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell. Duties and Responsibilities
Finance Interns will support the Corporate Controllership Group with primary focus in Financial Reporting and Accounting functions. This role will spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as the day-to-day operations of the Finance department. Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which will help them build a strong network within the Hubbell community. Roles and Responsibilities will vary by Hubbell business location, but may include the following: Gain knowledge of the industry as it pertains to the Hubbell business location Learn about US GAAP accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls in a large corporate environment. Experience in planning and organizational skills Assist with the monthly financial close responsibilities. Participate in SEC Reporting and Government Reporting filings. Expectations: The intern will be expected to work full-time at 40 hours/week and will be compensated on an hourly basis. Skills: Basic Understanding of accounting and finance principles Strong drive to do what it takes to get the job done, inquisitive and demonstrates a strong willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Excellent attention to detail and follow-through are required. Strong communication and leadership skills. Professional and energetic personality with strong interpersonal skills. Technically savvy with competency using spreadsheets and word processing. A Day In The Life
