Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the motivation, coaching and leading in the supervision of manufacturing associates. Execution of production efficiency standards, company policies, guidelines and production documentation that support daily operations.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assists in developing and achieving dept. goals, metrics, objectives, and performance. Partners with manager to complete the Performance Management Process, establishing annual goals, and formally evaluating performance within established company timeframes. Provides salary increase input to Leaders on direct reports. Utilizes recognition tools to reward outstanding associates. Builds relationships and maintains ongoing rapport with associates and internal/external customers. Develop team leaders to assist with shift needs, and ensure leaders are equipped to efficiently delegate work assignments. Ethical leadership to motivate associates towards meeting and/or exceeding production goal performance and maintaining team engagement. Reviews shift production performance and recommends improvements including the reduction of shortages. Coordinates labor resources including company associates and temp labor daily, to ensure adequate teams and production needs are met. 40%
    • Manages associate relations issues, including but not limited to progressive discipline and terminations as appropriate, in compliance with Company policies and procedures. Consistently and fairly administers company policies to ensure retention and positive associate relations. Interviews, recommends and/or makes hiring decisions for manufacturing personnel. Trains associates on proper work techniques to drive optimum proficiency. Promotes, educates, and participates in diversity programs at locations, builds a diverse workforce, and supports compliance initiatives. 30%
    • Ensures safety is a primary focus and concern for all associates and work is performed in a safe, appropriate manner. Completes accident and incident investigations and documents. Responsible for ensuring that all equipment has the proper safety devices/ is safe to operate. 20%
    • Responsible for reconciliation of hours for payroll and tracking of attendance. Implements change management and process improvement activities. Other duties as assigned by senior plant leadership. 10%

Qualifications

EDUCATION

    • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
    • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 2- 4 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment (Preferred)
    • Demonstrated leadership skills.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

    • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment to solve problems.
    • Ability to seek cooperation, persuade and influence associates and peers.
    • Ability to lead effectively, including establishing and maintaining high performing work groups.
    • Solution oriented and analytical approach towards production/staffing forecasting, data analysis, goal setting, cost containment and interpretation of reporting results.
    • Knowledge of regulatory compliance programs and safety practices.
    • Computer proficiency.
    • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and occasional holidays.
    • Bilingual preference if needed at location.

EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE UTILIZED

    • Microsoft Office
    • Utilization of payroll and other production support database and data analytics systems.

COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS

* Informs leaders and other internal clients of pertinent information and communicates

to other departments as necessary.

* Communicates with external vendors as needed.

* Effectively communicates with team and at all levels within the organization.

DECISION MAKING

* Optimization of the production schedule. Evaluate the sequencing of jobs,

workload balancing to determine effectiveness based on material and shipping deadlines.

* Work moves based on material arrival, production decline and shipping needs.

* Coordinating with staffing agency on the number of associates on staff to support volume.

OTHER

* Position requires flexibility to work other shift schedules as required for coverage.

Additional Information

The salary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $67,800-$105,800/ annually. Starting pay decisions

are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications,

skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other businessneeds. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending onthe role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also includeovertime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay. RRD's benefit offerings includemedical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, lifeinsurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental leave, adoptionassistance, tuition assistance and employer/partner discounts.
