Moog's Corporate Groupis looking for a Senior Director of Architecture & Engineering to join our Technology Team!

As the Senior Director of Architecture & Engineering, you will lead the strategic design, governance, and delivery of Moog's enterprise technology landscape. This role oversees five critical domains: Enterprise Architecture, Digital Enablement, Business Platform Delivery, Platform Engineering, and Enabling Functions. You will define and maintain the technology blueprint that connects business priorities with scalable, secure, and innovative digital capabilities. You will accelerate innovation through digital thread, simulation, and model-based systems; deliver and evolve enterprise platforms such as ERP and PLM; build and maintain cloud-native infrastructure and DevOps pipelines; and enable foundational capabilities including UX design, agile program management, data engineering, and cybersecurity. You will also collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure technology investments drive measurable outcomes and support Moog's transformation into a smart, connected, and data-driven enterprise.

To qualify for the Senior Director of Architecture & Engineering, here is what we would expect you to bring to Moog...

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).

  • Over 15 years of progressive experience in technology, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing application development and enterprise architecture.

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale digital transformation and enterprise-wide system initiatives.

  • Strong background in both legacy and modern development frameworks (.NET, Java, cloud-native, microservices, APIs).

  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, etc.).

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business needs into technical vision.

  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.

  • Expertise in Agile and DevOps methodologies.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and enterprise SaaS integrations.

  • Must live local to the Buffalo, NY area to work onsite.

As the Senior Director of Architecture & Engineering you will...

  • Define and govern Moog's enterprise technology blueprint across architecture, engineering platforms, and digital capabilities.

  • Lead and evolve the enterprise architecture roadmap to align with strategic business priorities and innovation goals.

  • Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) for enterprise applications and platforms.

  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native development.

  • Deliver and sustain enterprise platforms such as ERP, PLM, and CAD systems that power core business operations.

  • Accelerate digital thread, simulation, and model-based systems engineering to connect engineering, data, and enterprise platforms.

  • Establish architectural standards, governance, and design principles to ensure consistency and interoperability.

  • Lead cross-functional PODs composed of architects, engineers, analysts, and product owners to deliver business-aligned outcomes.

  • Partner with business units to translate complex needs into integrated, high-impact technical solutions.

  • Ensure application security, scalability, and performance meet business and compliance requirements.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and guide strategic adoption to enhance Moog's digital maturity.

  • Build, mentor, and retain high-performing architecture and engineering teams with deep domain expertise.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value.

  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships to optimize delivery and operational efficiency.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate technology risks across platforms, infrastructure, and data systems

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $230,000.00-$270,000.00 Annually

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
