DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Carpenter 1, you will complete skilled work in the construction, installation, repair, restoration, and maintenance of structures and articles made from wood, composite, and wood substitute materials. You will perform general carpentry to repair and maintain all park buildings and construct wooden decks, ramps, steps, handrails, and fences. You will also repair roofing, walls, flooring, furniture, cabinetry, and signs. This role requires working with minimal supervision and the ability to determine the appropriate materials and procedures needed to efficiently complete assignments. In addition, you will assist with other trades tasks as necessary and remove snow using shovels, blowers, and a variety of plowing equipment. Interested in learning more? - Seasonal, full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay.
- The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately in March 2026.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work five shifts per week, including holidays, evenings. and weekends as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Building Trades Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience in the construction, installation, repair, restoration, or maintenance of structures and articles made from wood, composite, and wood substitute materials; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license that is not under suspension.
