DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Accountant 2, you will be designated as the Program's Single Audit Coordinator, and as such will be responsible for the analyzation and development of responses to any exceptions identified in the Independent Audit of the Counties MH/DS Program, related to individual areas of responsibility. Additional duties include assisting in developing a Corrective Action Plan, responsibility for all provider-monitoring activities and budget oversight of the MH/DS program provider services contracts. You will have the opportunity to act as a liaison between MHDS and Mental Health providers to authorize consumer units of service and perform adjustments in the Mental Health billing software system, as well as maintain the Mental Health provider rate file. Additional duties to include but not limited to:
- Preparing monthly invoices
- Reconciling all accounts related to special grant programs
- Reviewing contracted provider year-end Income & Expenditure reports
- Reviewing and reporting of mental health client count data
- Reconciling the internal general ledger to the County general ledger (New World Systems) on a quarterly basis
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Accountant I; or
- Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting.
- Four years of bookkeeping experience and 18 college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Luzerne/Wyoming County. If no eligible candidates who live within Luzerne/Wyoming County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
