DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Quality Assurance and Risk Management Specialist, your primary role will involve investigating incidents of patient abuse and grievances related to patient rights. This process entails gathering essential information from various sources, including staff, patients, medical records, and other pertinent documentation. You will be responsible for compiling evidence that pertains to the specific allegations, analyzing the information collected, and drafting a comprehensive report that outlines the findings of the investigation. Following this, you will assess the results and provide a review along with actionable recommendations for further consideration. All information, documentation, and findings from these investigations will be systematically organized, analyzed, and stored in a database, ensuring that all records of abuse allegations and patient rights grievances are easily retrievable for future reference.
In addition to these investigative duties, you will also interpret regulatory and accreditation standards to ensure compliance within the hospital setting. Your responsibilities will include the collection and analysis of data related to hospital practices and patient rights, which will support the ongoing performance improvement initiatives of the hospital. This will involve active participation in hospital committees, facilitating the flow of data between department leaders and senior management, and addressing inquiries that arise in relation to quality assurance and risk management. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.
- Overtime and travel: As needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience as a member of a multiple disciplinary treatment team in a public or private health care facility and a bachelor's degree; or
- Two years of clinical experience in an human services agency, including one year of administrative, evaluative, or consultative experience in a health care program; and a bachelor's degree with major course work in social work, nursing, health care administration, behavioral sciences or a related field; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
