Lead Lab Assistant - Special Processing/REF Testing - Sorrento Mesa

This is a full time position with 10-hour day shifts, start times vary between 6am and 7am. No weekends or holidays. Located in Sorrento Mesa.

The Lead Lab Assistant processes specimens for transport. Responsibilities also include:

• Answers phones and provides clerical support for the laboratory.
• Knowledge of clinical and send out labs.
• Ensures performance and safety standards are met.
  
  
• Serves as a liaison for the laboratory and interacts with physicians, nurses and customers to provide a positive outcome.
• Maintain standing orders for external providers.
• Work closely with referral labs.
• Ensure all results from referral labs are accurately entered and finalized in Epic Beaker.
• Ability to work closely with internal and external clients.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

• Good critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with medical terminology, with an understanding of computer systems
  
  Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
• 3 years of related experience.
• Understanding and knowledge of laboratory terminology and processes.
