Summary of Job Duties:The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Budgeting and Financial Analysis and is responsible for providing analytical support to Budget, Financial Services, and the Vice-Chancellor for Finance and Administration (VCFA). This role is responsible for providing accurate annual required reports to the UA System Office, Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE), Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), other state and federal agencies, and internal reports to Budget, Financial Services, and the VCFA as requested. Requires the ability to perform independent, highly complex and technical, budget and financial analyses. This position is governed by state and federal laws as well as agency and institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field;
  • Minimum ofseven (7) years of professional experience in accounting or finance;
  • Previous financial reporting experience and a good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Workday and/or Anaplan experience;
  • Familiarity with higher education reporting in Arkansas;
  • An advanced degree in business management or related area;
  • At least ten (10) years of professional experience in accounting or finance;
  • Experience in a university setting.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing accurate annual required reports to the UA System Office, Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE), Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), other state and federal agencies, and internal reports to Budget, Financial Services, and the VCFA as requested;
  • Assist in the design of Anaplan reports for campus use;
  • Support UA Little Rock's strategic planning and budget processes as assigned or in the absence of the AVC or Asst. Director through participation on university committees;
  • Assist in the position control process as needed to ensure that ongoing funding is budgetarily linked to positions;
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service;
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment; flexible and adaptable to change;
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues or information;
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and activities simultaneously;
  • Knowledge of UA Little Rock and/or UA System is a plus.
