Overview Illinois CancerCare is seeking a highly organized and patient-focused MOA/Medical Assistant Supervisor to join our team. The MOA Supervisor works independently and has primary responsibility for the supervision of medical office assistants. This position is responsible for supervising the operational and clinical competency skills of staff. The MOA Supervisor is expected to focus on employee development and growth by fostering and coaching employees, delegating work, and motivating employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. This position also oversees the office flow, ensuring an efficient, well-run operation, paying attention to room utilization, wait times, and provider productivity. Coordinate daily assignments and schedule Medical Assistants to support providers. Monitor provider schedules to identify and resolve coverage issues. Assess skill and performance levels of Medical Assistants; conduct regular evaluations. Manage hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations in collaboration with HR. As a hands-on supervisor, this position will also assist in the delivery of care to patients in the practice. Assisting the medical office assistants and triage personnel by working in close collaboration with physicians and other health care personnel to assure smooth and efficient patient flow and clinical operations. Oversee continuing education and training programs for Medical Assistant staff. Review and approve timecards across multiple sites. Conduct and document Medical Assistant meetings and training. Communicate operational policy changes and ensure implementation. Solve problems regarding patient, employee, and physician related issues, seeking assistance from Director when appropriate. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies. Dispose of hazardous materials properly and follow OSHA Universal Precautions. Travel to satellite clinics as needed. Qualifications What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED required 5 years of clinical experience required At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills Familiarity with EMR systems and medical terminology Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
