The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Project Manager will oversee the project coordination and implementation of key operational activities of grant-funded research under the supervision of the study principal investigator Dr. Sandra Soo-Jin Lee. This position will involve a mix of independent and supervised work. The Project Manager will contribute substantively to the intellectual work of the research in multiple domains, such as providing input on the direction of data collection and analyses, developing ways to implement and achieve study aims, and contributing to dissemination and publications. Additionally, the Project Manager is expected to engage in a significant amount of logistical work, including scheduling, correspondence, managing study team personnel and budgetary details of the project.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Overall project management of a multi-institutional, multi-disciplinary study
  • Support implementation of project goals, meet deadlines for project completion, and develop action plans and processes to maximize productivity.
  • Hiring and managing research personnel, including students and research assistants.
  • Coordinate collection of qualitative study data across sites, including recruitment and facilitating study procedures.
  • Manage qualitative study data, including research software, and coordinating analytic work among the research personnel.
  • Assist project investigators managing project budget and subcontracts, including tracking and managing study budget (reimbursements, travel, monthly budget, financial reports)
  • Manage grant administrative responsibilities (progress reports, no cost extension applications etc.)
  • Develop and maintain IRB protocols and coordinate across multiple institutions.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required and 4 years related experience


Preferred Qualifications



  • Demonstrated experience in bioethics or social studies of health.
  • A minimum of three years of qualitative research experience, including roles in data collection, analysis, and dissemination and project management experience.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including one-on-one interactions as well as in groups.
  • Record of writing papers, reports, or presentations.
  • Outstanding organizational abilities and professionalism
  • Masters degree in sociology, anthropology, ethics, public health or related field.
  • Experience with NIH or NSF grant funded research.
