PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Assist leadership in applying engineering operations to identify, define, plan, schedule, coordinate and implement product flow to successfully build product. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Materials cost reduction efforts.
- Implement identified design changes to existing material delivery systems.
- Support and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
- Recommend product improvement and maintain standard drawings/specs
- Support new product launches and development (PDP Process)
- Support manufacturing of custom/standard product bills, routings, supplemental data, and drawings
- Provide documentation for estimating the cost of materials and labor of manufactured product
- Understand product complexity and build requirements to select appropriate manufacturing line/processes
- Review product tolerances for manufacturability
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers for capital planning and acquisition projects
- Support daily production through troubleshooting, testing, and validation of product
- Support implementation and validation of new equipment
- Perform other related duties as needed
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. 2-year or 4-year degree preferred.
- 2 years engineering / technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3 years engineering software and materials replenishment systems experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to network cross-functionally.
- Ability to think in analytical terms.
- Ability to show initiative, be a self-starter and be able to work with little to no supervision.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
- Ability to use computer programs including MS Office, MRP (JD Edwards preferred), SolidWorks, etc - intermediate level.
- Ability to process engineering change orders (ECO's) as they relate to bills of material and product routings
- Ability to document processes in work instructions format
- Knowledge on DFM (Design for Manufacturability) to provide input for new and existing products
- Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects.
- Knowledge of product costing labor and material

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $20.40 - $37.80 Per Hour
