Purpose of Position

Prepare and conduct technical teaching assignments and materials, to achieve prescribed learning objectives at the simulator technician field maintenance level.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Applies fundamental principles and concepts. Performs the more routine aspects and progresses to more varied and complex activities with development of additional knowledge and experience in the subject matter.
  • Train and mentor other Technical Instructors.
  • Develops methods and materials for training, including classroom, computer, online, and simulator sessions. Able to conduct training course using standardized course curriculum.
  • Prepare student and instructor guides and execute instructions to students of various technical and language backgrounds.
  • Conduct technical training in classroom and laboratory environments for FSI, commercial and military customer personnel.
  • Develop effective lines of communications with technical and management personnel within and outside of FSS.
  • Provide input for technical manual and technical information bulletin generation as required.
  • Prepares training programs including outlines, text, handouts, tests, and designs laboratory exercises.
  • Lectures class on safety, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of simulator equipment; following outline, handouts and texts.
  • Travel required for all Instructors
Minimum Education

Associates Degree in electronics technology or related field

Minimum Experience

Or 6 years' experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Word Processing program
  • Illustrating Program (i.e. coral Draw, paint Shop Pro)
  • Briefing software (PowerPoint)
  • Task-scheduling software (MS Project)
  • Security+ Certificate may be required
  • Dept. of Defense Security Clearance may be required
Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
