JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

This position provides essential support across a broad portfolio of communications tasks, primarily assisting with writing, content development, and podcast-related projects. The assistant will collaborate with the Evidence-to-Impact Collaborative and the Prevention Research Center leadership and communications teams to enhance outreach and engagement efforts that promote research impact and community health initiatives.

Primary Duties (with approximate % of time):

  • Assist in drafting, editing, and proofreading written communications, including newsletters, web content, news articles and releases, and reports (40%)

  • Support the production of podcast episodes by coordinating scheduling, assisting with recording and editing, releasing, and managing episode promotion (30%)

  • Contribute to social media content creation and dissemination to increase visibility of projects and events (15%)

  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the communications team, such as tracking project timelines and coordinating meetings (10%)

  • Other duties as assigned to support communications and outreach goals (5%)

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled or recent graduate with an interest in communications, public health, or related fields

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Basic familiarity with podcast production and editing tools is a plus

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software as needed

Supervision Received:
Works under the direct supervision of Associate Director for the Evidence-to-Impact Collaborative, with guidance on project priorities and deadlines.

Scope of Responsibilities:
Supports communications initiatives at the department/center level with potential to impact broader outreach efforts through digital and multimedia engagement.
