Summary of Job Duties:The Lab Operations Coordinator supports the IPC Coordinator and course faculty in managing the daily operations of the Interprofessional Clinical (IPC) labs. This role is responsible for the physical environment of the IPC, equipment upkeep, inventory control, scheduling, and administrative support. The coordinator ensures labs are prepared for instructional use, equipment and supplies are maintained, and students and faculty have the necessary resources to support effective learning. Work hours and days may vary based on the needs of the College. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field PLUS three (3) years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, healthcare equipment, and procedures

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare Systems Operations Specialist certification PLUS two (2) years of experience in a standardized patient/simulation program lab.
  • Familiarity with general medical conditions, diseases, injuries, and medication administration practices.
  • Knowledge of interprofessional healthcare roles and team dynamicsWorking knowledge of physics as applied to high-fidelity manikins.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily IPC lab operations and assist faculty during lab sessions

  • Set up and break down classrooms/labs; prepare and distribute supplies as directed

  • Maintain, repair, and clean equipment; ensure proper functioning and readiness for instructional use

  • Conduct bi-annual inventories; stock supplies and maintain organized storage areas

  • Ensure bed stations remain equipped and linens are changed at least twice annually or more frequently as needed

  • Manage equipment check-out and return processes with proper documentation

  • Schedule IPC classes and events on the master calendar

  • Provide administrative support, including copying, filing, answering phones, scheduling, and document processing with Microsoft Office

  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized laboratory spaces

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the IPC Coordinator or Department Chair
