WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an IT Database Administrator in our Green Bay and Pewaukee, Wisconsin locations. This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the office.

This position is part of a job family (IT Infrastructure Consultant and Senior IT Infrastructure Consultant) where experience will be the determining factor. If you are currently in this Job Family, it will be a lateral move.

Job Summary

The Database Administrator (DBA) will provide high quality support for the production, test, and development environments by designing, implementing, managing, monitoring and maintaining multiple database servers and databases.

Job Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues at the database, instance, and server levels in a production environment.
  • Perform query and database performance tuning, schema design, capacity planning, and change control management tasks.
  • Design, implement, and manage jobs for backup, re-indexing, database optimization, and related tasks.
  • Contribute to database design and code reviews with application development teams.
  • Install and configure SQL Server, Oracle, or HANA according to defined standard operating procedures.
  • Baseline system performance, monitor for deviation, and recommend and implement improvements to slow running queries.
  • This role is subject to on-call rotation.
  • Required to carry a phone for emergency response.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of relevant experience

This position requires unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or a related discipline
  • Applications DBA experience
  • Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or HANA
  • Knowledge of relational DBMS, and ability to script and execute SQL queries
  • Proven track record of working independently and in team settings
  • Successful candidate will be a quick learner and demonstrate problem solving skills and the ability to collaborate with teammates, internal IT resources and clients to effectively meet business needs
  • Attention to detail and good communication skills
  • Willing and able to take on responsibility and be personally accountable for results

End Date: 09/19/2025

Pay Range Minimum: $76,932.70

Pay Range Maximum: $132,708.94

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
