This position, Reach Up Case Manager II (Job Requisition #53341), is open to all State employees and external applicants. AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights. Environmental Factors
Duties are performed in a community based setting and a standard office setting with travel to participating families' homes, work sites or other community locations and to meetings for which incumbents may be required to use either a state-provided vehicle or a private means of transportation. Considerable stress may be encountered in working with families in crisis, implementing mandated work activities in prescribed time frames and in potentially confrontational situations. Workload is usually heavy with a constant need for prompt accurate decisions. Incumbents must be able to work independently. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a human services, education and training or workforce development field AND one (1) year or more of experience involving direct client contact delivering case management services, or interpreting and applying rules and guidelines to make decisions regarding eligibility for programs and benefits in the fields described above (such as social services, education or employment programs). OR Associate's degree in a human services, education and training or workforce development field AND three (3) years or more of experience involving direct client contact delivering case management services, or interpreting and applying rules and guidelines to make decisions regarding eligibility for programs and benefits in the fields described above (such as social services, education or employment programs). OR High School diploma or equivalent AND five (5) years or more of experience involving direct client contact delivering case management services, or interpreting and applying rules and guidelines to make decisions regarding eligibility for programs and benefits in the fields described above (such as social services, education or employment programs) OR One (1) year or more as a Benefits Programs Specialist with the State of Vermont.
