Data Engineer
Orlando, FL 100% Remote This position is for a Data Engineer within *** (LM) Data and AI Enablement (D&Ae) supporting the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) business area. For this position, remote work is preferred, and full-time telecommuters within the continental United States will be considered. On-site work at any major *** facility might also be a possibility. Travel might be required. As a Data Engineer, you will support the SAP Data Warehouse preparation and migration effort by reviewing multiple legacy databases across a variety of technologies and determining decommission status, as well as migrate and optimize highly used views and procedures into a new database environment. Your work will directly impact the RMS preparation for the migration to SAP S/4 in 2028, and your contributions will help drive business process improvements and efficiencies. Basic Qualifications * US Citizenship * Has working knowledge of SAP HANA, XSA, SQL Server, Oracle, and GIT * Experiencing analyzing and modifying SQL queries to improve performance and optimize their layout * Experience developing HANA XSA data models to transform raw data into business-ready structures * Experience with SAP Enterprise Data and past SAP migration experience * Ability to distill and communicate insights from complex data * Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with business process stakeholders, citizen developers, and teammates * Strong analysis skills to assess legacy database logic and usage, and follow optimization plans * Ability to learn and understand business data in relation to various business processes and systems * A Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems/Sciences, Mathematics, Quantitative Social Science or other relevant discipline Desired Skills * Experience working with cross-functional, diverse, and virtual teams * Knowledge of Agile development processes and tools * Experience with system databases, data elements and application software solutions to optimize data gathering and analysis * Ability to provide recommendations on solutions and approaches that align with Enterprise architecture and best practices | |
