UMR, UnitedHealthcare's third-party administrator (TPA) solution, is seeking a Senior Email & SMS Specialist who is business-savvy and loves to stay busy with hands-on marketing campaign projects.

This position will support the maintenance, development and deployment of email and SMS communications (automated and ad-hoc) that meet business needs and client requirements. The Senior Email & SMS Specialist will work cross-functionally with writers, designers, developers, and other internal stakeholders to support a consumer-centric approach in the maintenance, development and execution of digital communications across the UMR business.

The ideal candidate will have experience in email & SMS with a drive to learn and expand their skill set in the digital campaign realm.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of email and SMS campaigns in an accurate, efficient manner consistent with marketing strategy, campaign objectives and best practices in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and SMS software tools
  • Oversee ad-hoc requests for email campaigns from start to finish, managing timelines, review processes, data stratification/segmentation, and sending the final product to UMR constituents
  • Utilize excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects under quick deadlines while being able to respond quickly and accurately to change
  • Assist in engaging key business and IT stakeholders across product teams, in conjunction with the email or SMS product owners, to facilitate ideation/refinement meetings for new email and/or SMS development to meet business requirements while prioritizing key initiatives
  • Follow necessary processes, procedures, and branding guidelines to ensure marketing efforts are consistent and compliant (CAN-SPAM, TCPA)
  • Anticipate our UMR customers' unique needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
  • Assist in maintaining a roadmap of future email and SMS initiatives that support UMR's products and services as well as the UMR member base and private label customers
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with cross-functional team members, establish trust and credibility in a matrix organization utilizing Agile methodology, and demonstrate effective interpersonal, influence, collaboration and listening skills
  • Analyze and report on the results of marketing campaigns using relevant email & SMS metrics for ad-hoc communications and larger campaigns utilizing applicable KPIs

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of digital marketing experience with exposure to email & SMS
  • 2+ years of experience working within email & SMS platforms/marketing automation tools (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Constant Contact, TailoredMail, Sherpa)
  • 1+ years of experience tracking projects in a project management tool (e.g., Workfront, Smartsheet, Trello)
  • Experience segmenting data for email & SMS marketing campaigns
  • Working knowledge of HTML and response design for email creation and editing
  • In-depth knowledge of email and SMS compliance (CAN-SPAM, TCPA) and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes easily

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Experience working within an Agile framework
  • Experience working in a matrix organization
  • Experience in the healthcare and/or health insurance industry

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
