Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Program Manager in the Office of Human Research Services ( OHRS) at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.
The primary purpose of the Research Program Manager, Clinical Research Operations, is to establish workflows and processes to support high-quality clinical research activities for assigned Disease Specific Groups ( DSG). In this role, the Research Program Manager is responsible for planning, supervising, and monitoring the daily work of all staff supporting the DSG clinical research efforts. In addition, the Research Program Manager assures that all clinical research conducted within the Rutgers Cancer Institute is in accordance with Good Clinical Practice ( GCP) guidelines, as well as applicable Institutional, State, and Federal regulations and guidelines. This position is also responsible for meeting the goals and objectives established by the management team.

Among the key duties for this position are the following:

  • Serves as primary contact for all protocol related requests.
  • Compiles all information and completes reports on time.
  • Provides support and guidance consistent with staff needs as indicated by written evaluation and consultation with management and providers.
  • Evaluates performance addressing both qualitative and quantitative aspects of performance; identifies strengths and areas that need improvement as indicated on written evaluation.
  • Performs regular audits of assigned team to ensure that the data collected is completed and accurate and to ensure that the research project, database or protocol is carried out as outlined.
  • Ensures that all appropriate Institutional, State and Federal regulations are followed throughout the course of the research project protocol.
  • Conducts team meetings a minimum of monthly; ensures minutes are documented an available to staff as reference.
  • Effectively contributes to and supports an environment that enhances the organization's mission/vision/goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with other services to improve the delivery of care.

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelors' Degree in a social science or related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of oncology research experience required.
  • Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the educational requirement.

Certifications/Licenses
  • Association of Clinical Research Professional (ACRP) certification or Society of Clinical Research Associates (CCRP) certification required within one (1) year of hire.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills, be proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, Oncore), possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to maximize resources and be resourceful.
Preferred Qualifications

  • One to two (1-2) years of supervisory experience in a clinical research environment preferred.
  • Supervision in a unionized environment preferred.
