Job Description
IPG is looking for a Network Engineer to implement, maintain and support our growing need in voice, data, video and wireless network services. You will be part of the Network Infrastructure & Operations team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, universally available LANs and WANs network architectures across the organization that meet business objectives and SLAs. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with department heads to assess near and long-term network capacity needs.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
- Deploy and maintain LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
- Keep new and existing equipment, hardware, and software up to date.
- Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Administrating various devices and services (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, Wi-Fi, MFA, VOIP phone system and security tools)
- Monitor network performance to ensure system availability and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
- Responsible for troubleshooting end users' hardware, software, and peripheral devices for any network related issues.
- Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.
- Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
- Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports. Participate in managing all network security solutions.
- Perform security audits, backups and recovery as needed.
- Some travel (10%) may be required.
Requirements
Knowledge & Experience
- Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN management and implementation.
- Solid 5+ years of experiences in supporting Palo Alto VPN & Firewalls, Cisco Wireless, Switches and Routers.
- Experience with the following considered a plus: Network automation, Video Conference Technology, SDWAN, Infoblox, Aruba Switching and wireless, and Cisco ISE
- Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
- Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge working with networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.
- Project management and ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
- Highly initiative taking and directed, with keen diligence.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong customer service with ability to verbally communicate complex concepts and address sensitive situations, resolve conflicts, negotiate, motivate, and persuade others.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment.
Formal Education & Certification
- Bachelor's degree in computer science and related field with minimum 5 years' experience.
- CCNP or similar level certifications a plus.

Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
