Check out this NEW Opportunity with Astrion! Astrion is seeking a Network and Desktop Technical Liaison / DoD 8140 System Admin (WRC 451), to join our team, supporting our customer on-site at Langley AFB, VA. What you will do:
- Coordinate and support the execution of system/infrastructure migrations, consolidations, and decommissioning to include the research and analysis of project implementation issues
- Conduct mission analysis to understand and baseline requirements (e.g., physical, virtual), capabilities, and identify vulnerabilities, resource gaps and document findings
- Serve as inventory mgr, eqpmt custodian, and accountable mgr of IT related assets per DAFMAN 17-1203, ITAM
- Administer user accounts, manage file permissions and print queues, load and configure software packages, distro lists, org boxes, printer issues/mgt, s/w updates, patches, perform system backups, manage access to system resources (e.g., DISA networks, SIPRNet, NIPRNet) and document as needed (e.g., AFRIMS)
- Support compliance on NOTAMs, update IA training, build new tablets/PCs, coord TACLANE rekeying, coord EMSEC inspections, and manage/maintain VTC suites
- Support IAO duties for desktops, laptops, clients, thin clients, cloud, and virtual desktop infrastructures implementations, and deliver tech supt for implementing, managing and maintaining VPN, PKI/CACs, and IPSec
- Analyze and provide recommendations to leadership regarding emerging network related technologies
- Provide weekly updates of activity and status as requested; attend meetings to provide leadership situational awareness and recommendations through briefings
- Perform as Cybersecurity Liaison (CL) and oversee, enforce, and maintain the organization cybersecurity program and policies, identifying cybersecurity requirements, personnel, processes, and procedures
- Assist and ensure all users have the requisite security clearances, supervisory need-to know authorization, and are aware of their cybersecurity (via cybersecurity training) before being granted access to AF IT according to AFMAN 17-1301
- Manage and enforce IT's security A&A documentation as prescribed by DAFMAN 17-1203
- Maintain required cybersecurity countermeasures and compliance measures IAW DAFMAN 17-1302-O, AFMAN 17-1301, and AFSSI 7702
- Initiate requests for temporary and permanent exceptions, deviations, or waivers to cybersecurity requirements or criteria according to this instruction and applicable specialized cybersecurity publications
Education, certification and experience you will need:
- Two (2) years' experience implementing MS AD and Exchange within the AF enterprise environment and applying IA
- Two (2) years' experience with DISA Defense Enterprise Email, managing managers as well as enabling users
- Two (2) years' experience with Thin Client and virtual desktop systems
- Two (2) years' experience with numbered AF or higher staff and base- level network architecture, tech experience working issues with AFSPC NetOps orgs
- Two (2) years' experience providing network system engineering and implementation expertise in the maintenance and modernization of network infrastructur
- Experience using Microsoft-suite applications tools
- This is a DoD 8140 position, identified as work role (451) System Administrator in an intermediate proficiency level (for details see https://www.cyber.mil/dod-workforce-innovation-directorate/dod8140 and DAFMAN 17-1305, DAF Cyberspace Workforce Management Program)
- Must have one of the following applicable intermediate certifications Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, SSCP or an advanced certification such as CCSP, FITSP-O and GFACT.
- Must have an active and transferable DoD SECRET security clearance. Must be able to maintain the required SECRET clearance
