Job Summary

The Test Engineer is a key member of the Testing Center of Excellence, responsible for supporting product development through the design, execution, and evaluation of electrical testing activities. This role works closely with product development teams to guide design direction, ensure compliance with required standards, and verify product robustness through comprehensive testing in electrical laboratories. The position requires hands-on testing expertise, technical problem-solving, and a strong commitment to safety and quality assurance.

Job Responsibilities




  • Collaborate with product development teams to advise on design direction and ensure product compliance with relevant standards



  • Plan, assess, and implement appropriate testing approaches, equipment setups, and methodologies



  • Perform hands-on testing of electrical power distribution equipment across a range of complexities



  • Conduct standardized and custom electrical tests, including high-voltage, high-power, and thermal evaluations



  • Review and interpret test methods defined by applicable standards, developing and refining test procedures to ensure consistency and repeatability



  • Design and configure test circuits, instrumentation, and control systems for accurate and safe testing execution



  • Collect and analyze test data, evaluate results, and prepare clear, detailed test reports



  • Support process improvements to enhance testing quality, efficiency, and safety



  • Collaborate with Power Test Lab (PTL) management to maintain compliance with IEC/ISO 17025 and A2LA certification standards



  • Contribute to maintaining and improving both laboratory and site safety standards




Job Requirements




  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical testing principles and practices



  • Experience conducting high-voltage, high-power, and thermal tests preferred



  • Ability to design, set up, and troubleshoot complex test circuits and instrumentation



  • Working knowledge of relevant industry standards (IEC, ISO, etc.)



  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills



  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional engineering teams



  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant testing environment




Education




  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required




Work Experience




  • Prior experience in product testing, electrical engineering, or laboratory operations preferred
