About the Job:

Keysight is looking for an electrical engineering intern to join our R&D team in Colorado Springs, CO. This individual will be responsible for designing next-generation technology for test and measurement applications, including electronic elements for oscilloscope products, modular RF products, and/or probes and accessories products.

The ideal candidate is working towards a BS or MS in EE or ECE and shows proficiency in PCA circuit design and simulation. The candidate should be a self-starter with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design PCAs for cutting-edge electronic measurement products.

  • Own the component selection and schematic design of PCAs under your control.

  • Use simulation software as necessary to validate conceptual circuit designs.

  • Work closely with PCA layout resources to ensure placement and routing meet your design requirements.

  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines on your team to capture and incorporate their requirements into your designs, such as mounting locations, interconnections, heat sinks, RF shields, etc.

  • Document your designs for ongoing and future reference.

  • Test, debug, and characterize your designs to ensure they function as intended.

  • In general, apply EE knowledge and skills to represent your discipline among a collaborative design team. Help your team weigh tradeoffs and solve problems.

  • Continue to grow in your discipline and learn new skills as necessary to make your team successful.


Qualifications

  • Working towards a BS or MS in EE/ECE or have applicable experience and education

  • Familiarity with circuit design and analysis, PCA design, component selection, etc.

  • Knowledge of simulation tools for concept validation

  • Familiarity with schematic and layout tools

  • Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment

  • Passion to continuously investigate new technologies, tools, and processes within your discipline

  • Self-motivation - must enjoy solving difficult and sometimes open-ended design problems in a team environment

  • Strong work ethic

  • Strong communication and documentation skills, ability to collaborate cross-functionally with a team-oriented mindset

Desired Qualifications:

  • Working towards an MS in EE/ECE

  • Familiarity with digital and RF components such samplers, filters, mixers and transmission lines

  • Experience with Mentor Graphics

  • Experience with Keysight's ADS software package

  • Ability to perform hands-on measurements with VNAs, oscilloscopes and signal generators

  • Experience with the complete design-prototype-analyze cycle.
