Role Summary:

The NPI Manufacturing Engineer supports the successful design transfer of new products into manufacturing. This role plays a key part on cross-functional project teams, ensuring new manufacturing processes are designed, validated, and implemented efficiently and in compliance with applicable regulations. This individual also collaborates with design and operations teams to ensure product manufacturability and scalability from development through launch.

Key Responsibilities:

The following are the primary duties and responsibilities of this role. Other related duties may be assigned to meet the business need.

  • Serve as the manufacturing lead on cross-functional NPI project teams

  • Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to optimize product designs for efficient production

  • Develop and execute process validation activities, including IQ, OQ, and PQ

  • Assure product and process quality through method development, testing, and process capability analysis

  • Fulfill functional deliverables related to CAPA, project management, and quality systems

  • Create and maintain documentation to support manufacturing processes (e.g., BOMs, routers, FMEAs, protocols, reports)

  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of production equipment as needed

  • Train team members on new or updated manufacturing and testing processes

  • Participate in Kaizen events and process improvement initiatives

Minimum Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or related Engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across functional teams

Preferences

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering, preferably within the medical device or other regulated industry

  • Working knowledge of process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)

  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 regulations

  • Experience with QMS, ERP, and MRP systems

  • Exposure to quality documentation processes (e.g., FMEA, control plans, validation protocols)

Work environment | Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to tug, pull, or lift up to fifty (50) pounds

  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor settings

  • Exposure to moderate-to-high noise levels and manufacturing equipment hazards

  • Clean, well-lit, and ventilated office environment
