Faculty Position in Gene Regulation POSITION SPECIFICS The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Penn State,University Park campus, invites applications for a tenure-trackfaculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The search is open to any area of eukaryotic gene regulation and tobe a part of the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences. Thedepartment values interdisciplinarity and is open to thepossibility of joint hires with allied departments such as Chemistry and Biology. We remain flexible in our direction forwardand encourage excellent candidates in all areas of eukaryotic generegulation to apply. The anticipated starting date for this appointment is summer orfall of 2026 or spring of 2027. The duties include research,teaching, supervision of student research at both the undergraduateand graduate levels, and service to the university and the greaterprofessional community. Candidates are expected to demonstrateinterest in and capacity for developing a strong, independentresearch program, and teaching and mentorship excellence at boththe undergraduate and graduate levels. Competitive applicants for the rank of Assistant Professor willpossess a Ph.D. in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology,systems biology or a related field before beginning employment at Penn State; will demonstrate potential for developing an externallyfunded and collaborative research program; and will demonstrate thepotential to contribute to the department's and college's teachingand service missions. Candidates seeking the rank of Associate Professor should have thesame qualifications as the assistant professor, as well as a strongtrack record of scholarly achievement, external funding, anddemonstrated success in teaching and service. Candidates for Full Professor should have the same qualificationsas the associate professor, as well as a track record of researchpublications, funding, teaching, and service that distinguishesthem, nationally or internationally.
