Are you a proactive individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys making a difference? We're seeking a motivated Janitorial Assistant Project Manager to join our team! What You'll Do:



  • Lead and Supervise:

    • Oversee a small custodial team, including individuals with disabilities, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to company standards.





  • Be Hands-On:

    • Actively engage in custodial tasks and daily operations, from cleaning to inspections, ensuring top-quality standards and safety in all areas.

    • Assist with night cleaning duties and serve as a backup supervisor at the Youth Center or Child Development Day Care as needed.





  • Team Training & Support:

    • Provide training, mentorship, and motivation to your team to ensure exceptional service and operational efficiency.

    • Conduct performance evaluations, approve time off, and address disciplinary matters as needed.





  • Operational Efficiency:

    • Plan, assign, and manage daily work schedules; monitor staff attendance and coverage, including during after-hours or weekends.

    • Ensure custodial supplies and equipment are properly stocked, ordered, and maintained.

    • Track inventory and manage payroll adjustments.





  • Problem-Solving:

    • Respond to emergency cleaning tasks, such as after-hours calls, blood pathogen cleanups, and flood-related incidents, ensuring quick resolution and high-quality standards.





  • Safety First:

    • Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

    • Train staff on proper safety practices and ensure adherence to safety standards across all custodial operations.





  • Compliance & Regulations:

    • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and confidentiality standards.

    • Maintain accurate activity reports, including attendance, inventory, and incident reports.




What You Need:



  • Minimum of (1) year' supervisory or Team Lead experience.

  • Minimum of (2) years' commercial janitorial or facilities maintenance experience.

  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety standards, and equipment handling.

  • Familiarity with safety procedures, including OSHA standards and bloodborne pathogen protocols, and the ability to train and enforce safety practices.

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Ability to guide and motivate a team, with a strong focus on teamwork and achieving shared goals.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially in handling emergency situations and addressing operational challenges.

  • A keen eye for detail, ensuring all custodial work meets high-quality standards and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain operational efficiency.

Physical & Environmental Demands:



  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as cleaning supplies (up to 50 pounds).

  • Spend long hours standing and walking during cleaning tasks.

  • Frequently bend, kneel, and crouch to clean floors, surfaces, and restrooms.

  • Perform repetitive tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.

  • Good hand-eye coordination is required for operating cleaning equipment and tools.

  • Work in various environments, including offices, restrooms, and outdoor areas.

  • Possible exposure to heat, cold, rain, or snow while performing outdoor tasks.

  • Use of cleaning chemicals; must follow safety guidelines.

  • Exposure to noise from cleaning equipment and machinery.
