Position Objective
The Deployment Manager leads the Deployment Team in its goal of delivering timely high quality platform migrations, software upgrades, new product deployments, new client deployments and software deliveries. The Deployment Manager fosters the advancement of the Deployment Team to meet company service goals and strategic initiatives sourced from Sales, Implementation, Development, and Support.
Principal Duties
A Deployment Manager is responsible for the day to day activities for a team of Deployment Engineers and Analysts. Team activities can include the deployment of new products, performing upgrades, migrations to new hardware, new client deployments and software deliveries.
The team manager needs to ensure that resources are available and prepared to perform the necessary work, and ensures that resource utilization is consistently maximized and focused on the highest value activities. The team needs to be prepared to deploy and support all current and upcoming product releases, underlying technologies. The Deployment Manager should evaluate knowledge gaps and provide learning opportunities and access to training for Deployment Team members.
This position requires the Manager to maximize the efficiency and quality of the teams work by effectively keeping resources engaged, improving processes and implementing tools to aid the team. The Manager will monitor team workflow, projects and client appointments to make sure all are completed with a careful balance of accuracy and timeliness. The Deployment Manager will take ownership of high-level Deployment escalations and projects as necessary.
The Deployment Manager will develop employees by promptly addressing performance issues, conducting regular meetings and reviews and participating in the hiring of staff. They will promote strong inter-team partnerships and foster positive supportive relationships will all areas of the business. As a Tyler Technologies Manager, it is their job to ensure compliance with all Tyler Technologies guidelines and policies, and accurate application of compensation plans.
Scope and Impact (Accountability)
The Deployment Manager is responsible for the results and success of the Deployment Team. A successful team will provide timely services with a high degree of quality, efficiency, consistency, communication and customer satisfaction.
The Deployment Manager works with Sales, Implementation, Development, Support and Accounting to ensure company objectives are achieved. Objectives, include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Ensure sales related deployments are completed within contractual timelines.
* Work with Implementation go-live commitments to ensure Tyler software is installed and configured with ample time for Implementation services to be conducted.
* Work with Development to deliver new products and modules and ensure revenue is recognized.
* Work with Support to address client needs in regard software upgrades and new server equipment review and procurement to ensure clients are fully supported under the software life-cycle policy.
* Work with Accounting to ensure timely and accurate billing of services, deliveries and recognition of revenue.
Complexity
The Deployment Manager must be able to:
* Oversee a team, both locally and remotely, comprised of a broad range of roles, including, but not limited to Deployment Engineers, Analysts and Interns.
* Address underperforming employees and challenge high performing employees on the Deployment Team.
* Take ownership of occasional high level team projects or initiatives
* Effectively mitigate client impacting events, and client escalations
* Manage multiple tasks and notify appropriate management when necessary.
* Quickly learn and adapt as Tyler develops, acquires or utilizes new technology and software.
* Stay current on new and changing technologies and industry standards.
* Work with dissatisfied and high profile clients to ensure client satisfaction and project success, which may include travel.
* Adopt a high level of involvement in department morale (i.e. team building functions).
* Demonstrate effective communication skills with a wide range of individuals, both internal and external, from technical to non-technical and from management to clerical.
* Engage other areas of the business to work cooperatively towards a common goal.
Education, Experience and Special Skills
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or comparable educational background preferred, or equivalent job experience
* Three or more years of experience with the operating systems, database engines, underlying infrastructure and Tyler software supported by the ERP division is preferred
* Two or more years of effective leadership experience in a technical environment preferred
* Superior customer service skills required
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to collaborate with diverse groups in a cross functional organization
* Keen attention to detail
* Ability to handle, delegate and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced, technical environment required
* Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude
* Strong analytical and technical problem solving skills
* Ability to be flexible, adapt and quickly learn new technologies and processes
* Possess a valid driver's license
* Able to travel occasionally

State-Specific Salary Range Disclosure Requirements

Salary will generally fall between $66,585 - $87,612 before adjustment for geographic differences. Recruiter can confirm if position is incentive eligible.
