How You'll Make an Impact Design, implement, monitor, enhance and troubleshoot systems in assigned areas Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary Test and review system designs Provide engineering technical support and guidance to regional personnel and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are met Mentor and guide the work of technical staff Review work plans, design and advise on improvements Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable Know, understand and follow Spectrum policy Working in a fast-paced environment which fosters a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation. Working Conditions Office environment Schedule: This position is eligible for our Hybrid Work Policy. Eligible employees can work from home up to one day each week. WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM Education Master's or bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience Experience 5+ years of engineering work experience 5+ years of project management work experience Skills Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Basic knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols Basic knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology, TCP/IP and the OSI Model, using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations Basic knowledge of network devices, basic network appliances and network designing software, such as Visio Ability to perform duties in a very fast-paced environment, learn new technology quickly, and use personal computer and software applications Preferred Qualifications Education: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Industry and vendor specific certifications and training preferred (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.) Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of business users in a professional manner. Extensive experience with collaborating and building team consensus when interacting with both the leadership and the implementation teams. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
