Position Summary
The Martin GAME Lab at the University of Georgia's Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources invites applications for a Senior Research Associate ( SRA). The SRA will provide leadership on multiple applied wildlife conservation projects, with primary responsibility for the Working Lands for Wildlife ( WLFW) and Missouri Bobwhite projects. These initiatives focus on integrating conservation practices into private working lands to increase bobwhite populations for the benefit of landowners, hunters, and the broader public.
Additional responsibilities will include support for related projects, such as a Ruffed Grouse genetic connectivity study in North Georgia and a Northern Bobwhite private lands project in Kansas. The SRA will play a central role in data analysis, publication, and reporting, while also overseeing data collection, supervising staff, and coordinating with agency partners and collaborators. This position offers substantial autonomy, opportunities for professional development, and the ability to shape impactful conservation research.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
* Ph.D. in wildlife ecology, biology, forestry, agriculture, natural resources, or related field.
* Demonstrated experience leading independent research projects.
* Record of peer-reviewed publications in applied ecology or related disciplines.
* Proficiency with R and advanced statistical modeling (Bayesian methods, JAGS, NIMBLE, or Stan).
* Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

* Extended periods of computer-based work (analysis and writing).
* Occasional travel and fieldwork.
