OSI Systems seeks an accomplished professional to serve in the position of Assistant Controller, for its Continental Electronics Corporation subsidiary in Dallas, TX. This individual will report to the CEC Controller.

He or she will have overall Accounting responsibility for CEC's operations. It is therefore critical that the Assistant Controller be a strong leader, as well as a solid technician and be able to effectively communicate with the executive levels of Continental Electronics and OSI Systems.

The Assistant Controller will possess significant accounting experience and outstanding analytical and communication skills. The Assistant Controller is responsible for maintaining the Company's books/records, delivering financial reports which are compliant with GAAP and SEC regulations, and managing accounting and reporting policies and processes. It will be critical to this individual's success that he/she drive continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness to facilitate accurate and timely reporting, be team oriented and have a hands-on approach to managing the function.


Responsibilities

* Oversee efficient and effective accounting team/function, including AP, AR, G/L, Cost Accounting and Cash Management functions with a staff of two people
* Manage the monthly closing process, balance sheet review process, and analyze financial results ensuring proper GAAP reporting
* Prepare US GAAP financial statements that are timely, relevant and consistent
* Ensure revenue recognition compliance with ASC 606
* Direct continuous improvement initiatives focused on working capital improvement
* Oversee all financial and internal control compliance audits and be responsible for implementing corrective actions needed to meet the standards required by the Sarbanes Oxley Act and to ensure a strong SOX-compliant control environment
* Ensure timely completion of work by directing staff priorities and schedules.
* Ensure accounting staff are properly trained and performing their assignments in a professional and efficient manner
* Drive continuous improvement in processes and controls with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging key systems
* Develop annual training objectives and personal development goals for each member of the Finance Team

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 3+ years of comparable experience
* Strong technical accounting background including thorough knowledge of revenue recognition principles, manufacturing/standard costing and project accounting,
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with other strong personalities,
* Outstanding analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills,
* Strong Excel user with a high level of proficiency in other MS Office products required,
* Ability to challenge the paradigms for the way the business is being run, add rigor and discipline to the accounting close processes,
* Manufacturing, Government Contracts and Deltek Costpoint ERP experience preferred.
