Genesis10 is currently seeking a Systems/Business Analyst for a 12 month contract role with our client in Minneapolis, MN. This role is hybrid, working 3 days a week onsite.

Project Overview: The Systems/Business Analyst II will be part of the operations capital delivery project team, which handles around 25 projects under operations. The BA role involves navigating a large corporate environment and may be split between multiple large and complex projects.

Deliverables: Responsibilities include requirements gathering and documentation for functional and non-functional requirements, assisting with ULC governance processes, and working closely with QA test leads to map requirements to design capabilities and test cases. The BA may work on projects like the gas transaction system replacement (gas billing) and the newer SPP Market Plus project. Typically, the BA works on two projects simultaneously.

What does a typical day look like?

The BA is a core project team member reporting to the Project Manager. Daily tasks include gathering and documenting requirements, coordinating meetings, using tools like Excel spreadsheets and Jira, and assisting with QA test leads and ULC governance processes. The BA must be willing to self-start and not shy about coordinating meetings.

What is the size of the group this position will be supporting? Who are some of the key players this person will be working with?

The BA will primarily support internal business units but may also interface with external vendors during requirements gathering to understand vendor software capabilities.

Will this resource support internal (business), or external customers?

BA will primarily support internal business units but may also interface with external vendors during requirements gathering to understand vendor software capabilities.

Describe work environment / team culture (supportive/collaborative, teamwork or individual contributor)?

Work environment is supportive and collaborative, with a focus on teamwork. The BA will work closely with various team members and stakeholders.

Can you elaborate on any potential risks or safety considerations associated with this role, particularly if the responsibilities extend beyond a standard desk or office environment?

The role is primarily office-based, located in MSP (Minneapolis) and Denver, but could be fully remote for the right candidate. There are no significant risks or safety considerations beyond a standard desk or office environment.

What is the ramp up time/process for this role? Aside from having the required skill set, approximately how long will it take to train on client's process, procedures/policy?

The ideal candidate should have 5-7 years of experience. Training on client's processes and procedures would take a few months, during which the new BA would partner with an existing BA to learn the ropes.

What are the work hours/shift (standard, evening, full time/part time, OT required, on-call for 24/7 operation)?

Standard core hours are from 8 AM CST to 3 PM CST, with flexibility for early or later hours (9 AM to 2 PM). Overtime is not expected but may be required depending on project needs.
