As a Sr. Manager, Information Systems Operations Management you will ill serve as an expert in cloud networking, WAN architecture including RFP processes, and have robust experience in data center and LAN operations. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless connectivity across hybrid environments and managing physical and logical network infrastructure at Fort Worth, TX. In this role a typical day will include:

  • Design and maintain cloud network connectivity, including integration with AWS, Azure, and hybrid platforms.

  • Collaborate with cloud and network teams to ensure reliable and secure cloud access through services like AWS Direct Connect and Azure ExpressRoute.

  • Lead WAN architecture planning, provisioning, and optimization including MPLS, SD-WAN, VPN, and leased lines.

  • Manage WAN RFP processes, vendor selection, and contract negotiations and vendor relationships.

  • Understand and interpret contracts and problem-solve effectively with limited information.

  • Oversee structured cabling installations (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics) and ensure compliance with industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI).

  • Supervise LAN infrastructure including switches, patch panels, and access layer configurations.

  • Maintain and support data center infrastructure including rack-and-stack operations, power systems, cooling, and environmental monitoring.

  • Document network diagrams, cabling layouts, WAN circuits, and data center assets.

  • Provide mentorship and training to technical staff and coordinate with external vendors for infrastructure upgrades.

  • Ability to interpret network diagrams and perform physical tasks in data center environments such as lifting heavy items (50lbs) and climbing ladders.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience

  • 5 Years of Demonstrated Leadership

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proven experience in cloud networking and hybrid connectivity models.

  • Must have proven record of working in a Data Center environment.

  • Problem-solving effectively with limited information.

  • Strong understanding of LAN technologies (Ethernet, VLANs, switching) and WAN technologies (MPLS, SD-WAN, VPN).

  • Demonstrated experience in WAN RFP processes and vendor management.

  • Proficiency in structured cabling systems and Layer 1 infrastructure.
