What you'll do Serve as a software developer and domain expert within Viasat's Knowledge Team to provide enterprise search and generative AI solutions across the organization and help solve key business problems to drive value. Develop new features and capabilities for enterprise search and automation using technologies such as Glean, Azure OpenAI, Google VertexAI, Neo4j, Python, Git Continuously explore ways to optimize processes, establish standard methodologies, and adopt emerging trends in generative AI Investigate and fix issues in our production environment The day-to-day Provide front-line support for end users of our knowledge, enterprise search, and generative AI platform Help develop new features, agents, integrations, and prompts to automate business workflows Support team SDLC by attending scrum, updating Jira tickets, writing tests, committing changes, and reviewing PRs in GitHub Collaborate internally and across teams to help tackle business problems following AI and data governance standard methodologies Communicate asynchronously through Slack and synchronously over Zoom to brainstorm and architect knowledge management and data integration solutions What you'll need 5+ Years of software development experience with solid understanding of computer science fundamentals Proficiency in enterprise search, generative AI, and agentic agent technologies Experience with ML / AI concepts such as LLMs, RAG, NLP, and MCP Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), DevOps, CICD, and IaC Familiarity with neo4j graph databases US Citizenship required Ability to travel up to 10% What will help you on the job Understanding of the role and importance of data governance and data privacy in enterprise data and AI platforms Proficiency with API integrations and RESTful services Strong verbal and written communication skills when collaborating with internal end users and collaborators Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, data science, or equivalent experience in a technical field Salary range $111,500.00 - $176,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $139,000.00- $208,000.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
