Director, Skills Strategy The Job The Director of Skills Strategy will partner with the VP, People Strategy & Org Effectiveness in developing and implementing SCAN's skills strategy. The Director designs and executes key activities in support of this strategy, including critical role identification, talent assessment, succession planning, talent reviews and calibration, career development. Additionally, this leader will shape and drive our enterprise-wide learning strategy, designing and overseeing implementation of impactful learning journeys for key employee segments and skill pools, and leading the development and implementation of our AI learning strategy. They will identify and partner with HR and business leaders to implement programs to address skill gaps, including sourcing strategies, EX/EVP initiatives, career development, etc. They will monitor and ensure measurable outcomes that align with business goals, drive functional innovation, and drive the incorporation of external best practice. You Will In close consultation with the VP, People Strategy & Org Effectiveness, lead the development of SCAN's skills strategy in service of SCAN's mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives. Lead, design, and implement key activities in support of the skills strategy, including critical role identification and management, succession planning, talent assessment, and talent reviews and calibration. Develop a forward-looking, enterprise-wide learning strategy to address high priority skill gaps in alignment with business priorities and workforce transformation goals. Partner with business leaders, SMEs, and People & Culture (P&C) to design and curate learning journeys tailored to key employee segments (e.g., executives) and critical skill pools. Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive AI learning strategy to build AI fluency and supporting skills (e.g., change leadership) across the organization. Collaborate with internal experts and vendors to curate and create AI learning content, experiences, and certifications. Champion responsible AI education and ensure alignment with ethical and compliance standards. Partner with other learning team members in and outside of HR as well as learning vendors to execute the end-to-end design, delivery, and scaling of learning programs using a blend of modalities (digital, in-person, social, experiential), leveraging learning technologies and platforms to enhance accessibility, personalization, and engagement. Partner with Talent Attraction team to develop and execute sourcing and hiring strategies to address skill gaps. Identify, prioritize, and partner with HR and business leaders to develop and implement additional initiatives and programs to address skill gaps, such as career pathing, employee experience, EVP, internal mobility, etc. Define success metrics and implement robust measurement frameworks to assess learning and other skills-related programs' effectiveness and business impact. Use data and insights to continuously improve programs and demonstrate ROI to stakeholders. Report on outcomes and progress to executive leadership. Oversee the enterprise learning team, providing direction and aligning to overall skills strategy development, design, and execution of enterprise learning programs (e.g., Welcome to SCAN, Leading at SCAN, Cultivate Week), learning and learning experience design, and LMS administration. Drive innovation within the talent development function, leveraging AI, tech enablement, process improvement and other techniques to continuous improve the effectiveness, scalability, and efficiency of learning programs and capabilities. articipate in external conferences, roundtables, forums; engage thought leaders and partners, and consume published best practices that relate to skills, learning, and talent development; incorporate best practices into skills approaches and champion best practices throughout SCAN. Actively support the achievement of SCAN's Vision and Goals. Other duties as assigned. Your Qualifications 7+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Talent Management, or Organizational Development. Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise skills and learning strategies and programs. Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and learning technologies. Experience with AI-related learning or digital transformation initiatives is highly desirable. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and change leadership skills. Data-driven mindset with experience in learning analytics and impact measurement. Familiarity with AI tools, platforms, and trends in workplace learning. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach problems in a structured way, assess solutions and develop sound recommendations Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to craft clear and engaging messages for diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization, fostering collaboration and alignment. Strong ability to influence and appropriately challenge senior leaders. Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to drive insights and continuous improvement. High attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in program execution Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple programs and priorities effectively.
