ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinkingSmart Building Consultant - Healthcare Program Managerto guide healthcare organizations through the planning, design, and implementation of smart hospital technologies. This role focuses on advising clients on strategy, integration, and execution of advanced healthcare IT and building systems that enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and overall hospital management. The consultant will serve as a trusted advisor-bridging healthcare delivery, technology infrastructure, and organizational change management to drive innovation that improves clinical impact and patient experience.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO

Strategic Advisory & Leadership



  • Provide strategic consulting to healthcare executives and stakeholders on developing and executing smart hospital and digital health infrastructure strategies.
  • Define vision, outcomes, and measurable objectives (OKRs/KPIs) for technology-enabled hospital operations.
  • Offer thought leadership on how advanced technologies can enhance patient care, operational workflows, and long-term adaptability.


Program & Project Oversight



  • Advise clients on IT program structures, scope development, schedules, and budgets for smart hospital initiatives.
  • Guide organizations in applying best practices in project delivery, governance, and performance measurement.
  • Support alignment across clinical, administrative, and IT teams to ensure success of major capital and technology investments.
  • Oversee the planning, execution and delivery of IT projects related to smart healthcare facilities and campuses.


Technology & Systems Integration



  • Evaluate, recommend, and plan the integration of healthcare IT, smart building, and digital health technologies into hospital environments.
  • Ensure interoperability across clinical, operational, and building systems, creating a cohesive ecosystem that enhances efficiency, clinical outcomes, and patient satisfaction.
  • Balance innovation with risk, cost, supportability, and long-term lifecycle considerations.


Stakeholder & Change Management



  • Facilitate collaboration with diverse stakeholders-including clinicians, administrators, IT, and other operational leaders-to translate needs into actionable requirements.
  • Support organizational change management by helping clients adapt processes and workflows to new technologies.
  • Lead workshops and design sessions to align stakeholders around outcomes-driven solutions.


Vendor & Partner Management



  • Advise clients on vendor selection, contract structures, and ongoing performance management.
  • Conduct capability assessments of vendors, ensuring alignment with client objectives and enterprise standards.
  • Act as an independent advocate for the client in vendor negotiations and solution evaluations.
  • Assist with vendor management.


Regulatory, Security & Compliance



  • Provide guidance on data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements affecting smart hospital environments.
  • Help clients implement robust governance frameworks to safeguard patient data and hospital systems.


Team Development



  • Build and lead a high-performing project delivery team
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive project environment


Continuous Improvement & Innovation



  • Stay current with emerging healthcare and smart building technologies.
  • Translate industry trends into actionable strategies for clients.
  • Support clients in developing long-term innovation roadmaps.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Qualifications



  • Education: Bachelor's degree required in information technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field. Master's degree or certifications (PMP, ITIL, CISSP, Lean Six Sigma) preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 10+ years of experience in IT program management, healthcare technology consulting, or smart building integration.
    • Proven experience advising healthcare organizations on smart hospital or digital health initiatives to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
    • Track record of leading large-scale technology programs in complex healthcare environments.


  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
    • Excellent project management and organizational capabilities.
    • Strong consulting and advisory capabilities with executive presence.
    • Deep knowledge of healthcare IT, building systems integration, and digital health technologies.
    • Excellent communication skills for facilitating alignment across diverse stakeholders.
    • Expertise in project governance, vendor management, technology integration and roadmap development.



The salary range for this position is $122,400 to $153,000 annually. This salary range is the range we believe is the anticipated range of possible base compensation at the timing of the posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for the position. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. We offer a full benefit package including medical, dental and vision coverage and flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances. We have paid time off, flex-time schedules, remote work options and a 401k plan and employee perk programs.
