We are seeking a...

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Research Associate to join our Research & Pharmaceutical Sciences Department. In this hands-on role, you will report to the Associate Director within Ocular Preclinical Research and play a key part in developing and characterizing novel gene therapy products and technologies.

  • Primary responsibilities will include performing a variety of molecular biology techniques, from cell culture and plasmid design to AAV viral vector characterization. You'll also prepare and analyze biological samples from both in vitro and in vivo studies, using a wide range of assays such as ELISA, qPCR, ProteinSimple Western, and MSD.

  • This role also involves developing and optimizing assays, meticulously documenting your results in an electronic lab notebook, and presenting your findings at team meetings. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and organized lab environment by handling routine duties like equipment maintenance, inventory management, and ordering supplies.

Who You Are:

  • An experienced professional with a minimum of five years of laboratory experience in an industrial setting and holding a bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.

  • Ideal applicants should have a strong background in bacterial and mammalian cell culture, with proven expertise in cell maintenance, transient transfection, and viral transduction.

  • Required skills include proficiency in molecular cloning techniques, from plasmid design and sequence interpretation to execution. Proven experience isolating DNA, RNA, and protein from both tissue culture cells and various animal tissues for downstream bioanalytical analysis is desirable.

  • Additionally, experience conducting a variety of molecular, biochemical, and cell-based bioanalytical assays, including but not limited to qPCR, ProteinSimple Western, MSD, ELISA, AlphaLISA/HTRF, flow cytometry, and Western blot is desirable. Experience with AAV vectors, histology, bioimaging, and rodent handling is a plus, but not required.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Philadelphia is $72,900-$135,300 . Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
