Shift:Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with varied hours as needed. * Base Pay Range: $59,321.60 - $96,761.60 per year, based on experience. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION * Develops, implements, and manages a volunteer program to attract and deploy volunteers. * Collaborates with leadership to develop and implement departmental policies, goals, and service standards in strategic alignment with the organization. * Maintains and grows volunteer base through outreach to individuals, community-based organizations and groups, colleges/universities, and corporations. * Works closely with managers and leaders across departments to periodically assess needs for volunteer expertise and level of volunteer staffing, and to develop new volunteer roles with the goal of improving the patient experience. * Monitors services to internal and external customers. Analyzes and trends anecdotal customer feedback to identify organizational improvement opportunities. * Prepares the annual budget and manages monthly revenue and expenditures. * Maintains the volunteer database. * Works closely with hospital leadership to coordinate special visitor groups, support special events, and assist with other projects as needed. * Manages the MU Health Care Wags Therapy Dog Program, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain required documentation related to credentials and veterinarian records. * Hires, trains, evaluates, and counsels paid staff in Volunteer Services and Gift Shop. * Recruits and oversees placement, orientation, and ongoing support of new volunteers. Plans and executes volunteer appreciation and training activities. * Monitors schedules for Wags therapy dog teams, taking into consideration skills and organization needs. * Manages the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules for volunteers and paid employees to ensure the appropriate level of coverage. * Monitors and oversees time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely approval for payroll purposes. * May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, social work, or a related area. * Three (3) years of leadership experience encompassing recruitment, supervision, and business operations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Volunteer experience within a healthcare setting. * Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
