Job Overview
The incumbent performs a variety of electrical trade functions, such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the production, distribution, or utilization of electrical energy. Skilled and proficient in the usage of thermography equipment, motor circuit analysis equipment, and electrical measurement logging equipment (electronic chart recorder). Keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered and identifies and reports safety, environmental, and other work requirements for resolution. Work Model: Onsite
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Conducts inspections and assessments of electrical gear, breaker panels, transformers, motor control centers, motors, and other similar electrical equipment, reporting those conditions to the Supervisor and performing the electrical repair work requests issued by the Supervisor.
- Utilize thermography imaging to investigate and identify facility and electrical hot spots, identify electrical distribution problems.
- Utilize both off-line and on-line motor analysis systems to test and provide reports on motors; Correct electrical problems identified by the PM; and Support motor repair shop.
- Performs diagnoses and inspection of malfunctioning systems, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Installs or repairs any of a variety of electrical equipment such as, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, and other transmission equipment.
- Works standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
- Utilizes and interprets technical manuals, shop directives, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and specifications, verbal, and written instructions.
- Responsible for completing daily work order log documenting inspections, maintenance and repair information, to include work performed, materials used and hours worked on each assigned work order.
- Interfaces with customers and responsible for customer feedback, as applicable.
- Adheres to proper security practices and airfield driving regulations, as applicable.
- Operates motor vehicles in accordance with company vehicle policies.
- Complies with applicable federal, state, USAF, and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) environmental laws and regulations.
- Follows Chugach Alaska Corporation and furnished information directives; Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Policies and Procedures, and contract requirements.
- Complies with health and safety rules and procedures; performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
- Incumbent will at all times wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties.

Job Requirements
Mandatory
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Four (4) years' experience as an Electrician or completion of apprenticeship or AS Degree in Electrical/Electronics.
- Current state driver's license, acceptable driving record and proof of valid insurance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licenses/IDs/certifications.
- The ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Valid state Driver's License with an acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
- Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Valid state Driver's License with an acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
- Ability to obtain Government credentials that may be required.
Preferred:
- Work experience supporting a military base or civilian installation.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
- Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm, diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, dust odors, and elevated noise levels.
- Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard, and soft-carpeted surfaces/floors, cement structures, and surfaces.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to use tools, equipment, chemicals, etc., to perform essential functions of the job.
- Ability to use standard office equipment /tools as may be required for the position (computer, phone, copy machine, hand-held radio, etc.)
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time, sit, use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, or smell.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and follow safe lifting procedures.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision.
- May be required to enter confined spaces.
