Position Overview

This role can be based in the following US locations: San Antonio, TX. This is an onsite role (5 days/week).

The Senior Manager, Facilities Management Center (FMC) plays a pivotal role in leading centralized facilities monitoring and incident response across a hyperscale data center portfolio. This role ensures consistent execution of operational protocols, proactive risk detection, and real-time coordination of critical infrastructure events. Acting as the operational bridge between the Director of Infrastructure Operations and shift managers, the Senior Manager ensures high performance, compliance, and continuous improvement in facilities operations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Operational Leadership
    • Directly manage FMC shift managers and specialists to ensure 24/7 coverage and consistent service delivery.
    • Oversee real-time monitoring of mechanical, electrical, and environmental systems across all sites.
    • Ensure adherence to SOPs, escalation protocols, and incident response standards.
  • Incident & Alarm Management
    • Lead centralized incident triage and escalation for facilities-related events.
    • Ensure timely creation and management of bridge lines and customer/internal communications.
    • Validate incident documentation and support post-event analysis and reporting.
  • Change & Work Management
    • Support change management processes including risk assessment, work verification, and customer approvals.
    • Oversee start/stop work protocols and ensure compliance with level-of-risk procedures.
  • Risk Management & Preventative Monitoring
    • Monitor critical systems including chiller plants, chilled water, power, fuel levels, and PUE metrics.
    • Provide verification of site risk and emergency management readiness.
  • Customer Communications & Service Requests
    • Ensure accurate, audience-specific communications during incidents and service requests.
    • Support customer experience teams with timely updates and SLA-aligned messaging.
  • Team Development & Quality Assurance
    • Conduct performance reviews, training, and development for FMC staff.
    • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure operational excellence and data integrity.
    • Optimize scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow efficiency.
  • Technology & Process Enablement
    • Collaborate with analytics and IT teams to enhance monitoring tools and dashboards.
    • Drive continuous improvement through feedback loops, SOP updates, and automation initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in data center or critical infrastructure operations, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and environmental systems in hyperscale environments.
  • Experience with centralized monitoring platforms (e.g., BMS, DCIM, SCADA) and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in high-pressure, 24/7 operational environments.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • ITIL, PMP, or Uptime Institute certifications are a plus.
