Design Engineer Co - Op

The Design Engineer Intern is responsible for supporting the R&D department by participating in design activities, building/testing prototypes, preparing test samples, and performing Engineering analysis to ensure designs meet requirements. Also provides drafting/modeling and document management support and participates in prototype builds, buck builds and install windows and doors for testing.

Desire and ability to learn how to create innovative designs that meet the needs of the project
• Ability to use problem-solving skills to create solutions
• Ability to collaborate and work with others well
• Experience designing products preferred
• A hands-on background in the building and testing of products a plus
• Experience designing injection molded, aluminum and plastic extrusion, metal stampings, hardware, and mechanical systems preferred
• Develop design testing plans and execute
• Develop proper documentation and specifications of designs
• Work with external suppliers to ensure component capability

• Must be enrolled in an Engineering degree program pursuing a Bachelor's degree
• Working knowledge of 2D and 3D Modeling software (Inventor preferred) and Microsoft
• Must be able to be a positive member of a team environment, an individual who possesses self-motivation skills and is dependable and trustworthy
• Must be able to problem-solve and communicate effectively
• Must possess proficient organizational, interpersonal, and multi-tasking abilities and be able to work with power tools and computer equipment
