The Opportunity:

UCF's Student Success and Well-Being Housing and Residence Life Department is currently accepting applications for a Mail Clerk III. This position will oversee daily operations and supervise a team of up to 15 student employees. This role is essential to our residential community, focusing on efficient mail and package processing, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and ensuring excellent customer service. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone ready to mentor others and make a direct impact on campus life.

Responsibilities:

Mail & Package Processing:



  • Receive, sort, and distribute all incoming U.S. and campus mail and packages for on-campus residents.

  • Coordinate the forwarding of mail, return-to-sender items, and special deliveries, and sign for insured, certified, and registered mail.




Supervision & Staff Management:



  • Directly oversee and supervise up to 15 student employees, including assisting the Mail Coordinator with recruiting, interviewing, and making hiring recommendations.

  • Responsible for training, evaluating, and mentoring student staff each semester.




Operational Management:



  • Oversee the daily operations of one Mail Services location, including receiving, processing, and delivering mail and packages.

  • Coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and re-keying of mailboxes to ensure they are secure and functional.




System & Inventory Maintenance:



  • Maintain proficiency in mailroom systems such as WTS by Quadient, StarRez, and eRezLife.

  • Act as custodian of all mailbox keys and responsible for maintaining accurate supply and key inventories.




Compliance & Administration:



  • Ensure compliance with all Mail Services policies and procedures to quickly and effectively resolve mail and package issues.

  • Provide administrative support to the Mail Coordinator, assisting with data tracking, record keeping, and event planning for Mail Services initiatives.

  • Assist with reviewing and updating training and operational materials.




Relationship Management:


  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with delivery carriers, vendors, and other campus partners.



General Duties:



  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.




Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previous supervisory or management experience.

  • Experience in mail services.

  • Experience in Residence Life or Residence Management.




The most successful candidates may possess the following qualities:


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook).



Health Assessment Required:

The UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $15.66- $18.79. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
