Moog's Military Aircraft Group has an immediate opening for aProduct Engineering Test Technician. You will report to our PE Engineering Manager and have an on-site work schedule at our aerospace plant in Torrance, CA.

Overview: Individual contributor that requires advanced knowledge of testing operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience.

You will provide technical support services, specifically related to testing activities. Technical work is typically performed in a "hands on" environment and focuses on daily plant testing operations and test maintenance.

As a Product Engineering Test Technician, you will:

  • Review test specifications and setup UUT and associated test equipment per written procedure.

  • Create test stand operating procedures.

  • Inspect test setups to verify compliance with applicable procedures.

  • Post-process test data to verify compliance with specifications.

  • Troubleshoot/investigate testing anomalies.

  • Assist with test equipment setup, instrumentation, and data acquisition.

  • Assist in test planning efforts and test readiness reviews.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation.

  • Review and provide technical feedback on draft test procedures for future tests.

  • Provide training to other technicians for the proper execution of tests.

  • Communicate clearly and collaboratively across all levels and functions in the organization.

  • Minimal Travel to outside test locations to setup, inspect, and train.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or technical degree. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all work instructions and training.

  • 7 years or more experience with mechanical, hydraulic, or electromechanical testing environment.

  • Experience in the proper use of hand tools and test instruments commonly found in a test lab.

  • Computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Able to work under minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate will have the following preferred qualifications:

  • Experience or knowledgeable with data acquisition and post-processing applications such as LabView, DIAdem, dSPACE, Dewesoft, or MATLAB

  • Experience using laboratory tools such as an environmental chamber, multi-channel oscilloscope, DMM, milliohm meter, dielectric tester, torque tools, thermocouples, etc.

Salary Range Transparency:

Torrance, CA $36.00-$48.00 Hourly

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
