Job Summary

The Loudoun County Department of General Services is seeking a dedicated County Records Center Specialist to join our Internal Services Division. The ideal candidate will have experience in planning, implementation, training, and coordination of records management programs. Must possess the ability to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers in a fast-paced office environment. Must have a professional demeanor, strong written communication skills, and be detail oriented.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Provide records training and guidance to more than 100 departmental records coordinators on County Records Center operations.
* Manage records management information and policy, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations through full life cycle practices.
* Serve as a designated Records Officer, reviewing and approving records destruction requests for non-constitutional departments.
* Assist with records deliveries, inventory management, and the destruction of records stored at the Records Center.
* Support the sale of surplus property, including receiving and preparing surplus items for sale or internal reallocation. Facilitate surplus sale transactions and maintain effective communication with customers.
* Serve as backup support to the Surplus and Records Manager, including general supervisory duties to a minimum of four employees in their absence.
* Prepare and submit complete program reports to stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma; two (2) years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prefer warehouse, administrative, and/or inventory management work experience;
Prefer customer service and/or some supervisory experience.
Prefer prior experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, and/or Laserfiche.
Prefer Certified Records Analyst (CRA) or Certified Records Manager (CRM).


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Valid driver's license and good driving record are required (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification). Pass pre-employment criminal, credit, and DMV background checks. Requires JLG Lift certification within 60 days of hire.

Regular office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm but may change as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The role involves routine lifting, pushing, and carrying records boxes and surplus. Candidates must drive and work in various weather conditions. Work is in office, warehouse, and outdoor settings.
