Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Support Specialist for the Office of Research (Dean's Office) within the School of Public Health located in Piscataway, NJ. Under direction of the Assistant Dean for Research, the Program Support Specialist will provide administrative and programmatic support for sponsored research activities within the School of Public Health. This position is responsible for assisting faculty and administrators with grant and contract submissions, ensuring compliance with university and sponsor policies, coordinating pre- and post-award functions, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role serves as a key liaison between principal investigators, the Office of Research, central grants administration, and external agencies.

Duties include:

  • Work in close coordination with the Assistant Dean of Research to support the operations of the Research Office; and provideadministrative support across the Research team.
  • Maintain Office of Research filing systems for general office operations and grant-related records.
  • Serve as a point of contact for general inquiries to the Office of Research.
  • Coordinate and support Office of Research training sessions.
  • Assist with coordinating pre-award administration of grants, contracts, and restricted funds.
  • Assist with providing grant application guidance to faculty, administrators and staff

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, plus Two (2) years of administrative experience, including experience providing administrative support in a higher education setting.

  • Equivalent education, experience, and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
