Office of Student Care Services:

The Dean of Students Office encompasses Student Care Services, Student Conduct and Academic Integrity, Counseling and Psychological Services, and Student Legal Services. Its mission is to foster a campus environment characterized by integrity, civility, accountability, student success, and well-being. To achieve this, the office offers a variety of resources, educational programs, and support services for the university community.

The Opportunity:

UCF's Student Success and Well-Being Office of Student Care Services is currently accepting applications for a Student Care Coordinator I. This position is responsible for addressing the diverse needs of university students facing academic challenges, mental or emotional health issues, psychological concerns, financial difficulties, disciplinary matters, and social adjustments, including family and relationship dynamics. This role involves various interventions, referrals, and follow-up services.

Key responsibilities include meeting with students, conducting assessments, managing care, and collaborating with faculty, healthcare providers, parents, community partners, and colleagues within the Division of Student Success and Well-being.

Responsibilities:



  • Direct student support such as identifying and supporting students in need.

  • Meet with students to develop care plans and follow-up with students to ensure their student success and wellbeing.

  • Serve as a care manager for students in distress.

  • Recommend students of concern directly to the Director.

  • Collect, evaluate, and record all facts pertaining to reports of student of concern.

  • Formulate intervention plans to minimize and/or resolve problems with students of concern.

  • Provide referrals to support services within the university as well as community agencies.

  • Follow up on prior cases to ensure compliance with recommendations.

  • Coordinate efforts for compliance with university mandated-assessment policy for Baker Act and Marchman Act students.




Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's and 2+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related social/behavioral science field.

  • 1-3 years working in a higher education setting or related field.

  • Experience providing support to individuals navigating personal, academic, or social challenges.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including faculty, healthcare providers, and external agencies.

  • Experience coordinating outreach events, tabling, or wellness programming for student populations.
